About

As a busy mum of two, I know first hand how difficult it can be to juggle finances and the daily struggle to make ends meet. My mission is to seek out the best money saving and money making techniques and pass them on to you. You might think the odd coupon or discount code is hardly likely to break the bank but you would be surprised – My money has noticeably gone a lot further since I adopted new money-saving habits. Everything I know and learn is available for you to read on this blog. This blog is a great platform for me to share all of this information with you.

I am a 34-year-old mum to Amy-Olivia who is 8 and Jenson who is 14. Being a mum to a teenager brings daily challenges and the need for the latest sports gear, game or piece of technology is ever growing. My 8-year-old is not in this phase yet and so I still enjoy buying her the lovely girly outfits and hair accessories but I am sure the time will come that she too will be asking for the latest trends. We don’t often get much time together as a family. Day trips and family holidays are rare but with the money making techniques I am learning I am hopeful these can be but towards some family treats.

As well as this blog I have a fantastic Facebook Group where you can interact and take part in the many conversations and activities. You can find the group HERE. You can also find me on Twitter, Pinterest, Facebook and Instagram.

IMPORTANT: This blog or the information within is for guidance only and should never be taken as professional advice. You should always seek professional financial advice or that of a professional organisation if you are in any kind of financial difficulty or hardship.

Why I love to enter competitions and have I ever won?

Comp

Almost 2 years ago I came across a video on YouTube from a certain lady called Di Coke. It was a prize unboxing video. Intrigued, I continued to watch the video and was amazed by the number of prizes she was winning from her hobby of entering competitions.

I’d entered the odd competition in the past but as a pessimist, I always thought they were a bit of a con and only a small percentage of competitions were genuine and had legitimate winners. In particular ever since OFCOM fined both ITV and BBC for unfair conduct when running competitions. I generally thought if they were cheating people out of winning at competitions then anyone can.

How to survive a UK Heatwave

In very rare occasions the UK will just sometimes have a heatwave! yes…. it’s true! i’m not kidding you. When the UK Heatwave hits it’s all out for us Brits, shorts on, tops off (for the males that is,  I’d hope!) sliders (and socks?!) flip-flops, paddling pools, beers, BBQ’s and salads! A UK heatwave is a pleasant […]

Flagship Housing: Incompetence & Lack of compassion

Flagship Housing

On Friday 20th October 2017 our family received the devastating news that my uncle (mums brother) passed away at his home in Newmarket. He was found by a close friend late on Thursday 19th October. The police were called to the property and of course, it was their duty to inform his family in Coventry.

Tony moved away from his hometown in Coventry many years ago to pursue his career as a professional Jockey. All of his relatives still reside in Coventry, almost 100 miles away. The hardest thing I’ve ever had to witness is my mother and uncle (Tony’s brother) having to wake my grandmother up early Friday morning and break this awful news to her.
